Guinea Pig Monday: Courgette meets Poivron

As announced last week, Courgette went speed-dating on Sunday. (You can check the profile of each candidate in my last post.) Here's what happened...

Courgette met Chaussette first. At the beginning, they showed interest in one another and looked like the might get along. Unfortunately, that didn't last very long. They made a lot of noise - rumbling, teeth chattering - and when they started to lunge at each other, we quickly separated them. What a strong character!

Next came Buz, who was sweet, but came on too strong for Courgette's liking (harrassment!). It's true that he would have probably calmed down after a week or two, but Courgette was really not happy receiving his attentions. We therefore decided to introduce her to the third, final, candidate.

Litte Tinours and Courgette also rumbled at each other, but the meeting was visibly less tense than the other two. It seemed like Tinours is young enough not to impose his dominance on Courgette, at least for now.

After watching Courgette on her three dates, we decided to adopt Tinours. To integrate him into my little ratatouille, I have renamed him Poivron (bell pepper). He is understandably still shy, but has settled in well. Courgette and Poivron slept in adjoining huts and breakfasted together this morning. More updates in the coming days :)

    1. Courgette likes to pretend she is indifferent to Poivron, but I have a feeling she likes him. She let him share her cushion this afternoon. If that's not a sign of friendship, I don't know what is ;)
